Marc Hirschi (Switzerland) wins Men Under 23 Road Race at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships Innsbruck-Tirol in Austria

The Swiss rider Marc Hirschi won the Men Junior Road Race at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships Innsbruck-Tirol in Austria. Bjorg Lambrecht (Belgium) and Jaakko Hanninen (Finland) finished second and third respectively.

Speaking seconds after the race the winner Marc Hirschi said: “It’s amazing. As a team, we rode at the front all the time. The crucial point was the descent in the second lap. We attacked and four of us ended up in the breakaway. It wasn’t planned like this but it worked out. I was always in the perfect group and I had some energy left to finish solo. It’s crazy!”
